Ice Silver B8 Build
So after replacing most of the major stuff on my B6 including the radiator, timing belt, water pump, clutch, and both CV axles, I sold her at 122,000 miles as a trade-in at Herb Chambers in Burlington. I'd done some research online and found a MY12 B8 A4, 2.0T / 8 speed auto with the S-Line and Sport packages. It had 23,000 on the clock and was a local one-owner. After test driving that, a BMW 335i X-Drive (didn't like the 6 speed clutch, or the sales guy) and an F-150 just for the sake of it, I went back to Audi and signed the papers to buy the B8.
A few months after I bought it I put it into storage while I hiked the 2,185 mile Appalachian Trail (www.2180miles.com) and put no miles on her; even now, some 18 months later, I've still yet to put 10k on the clock. I've got no huge plans for it, and intend to keep the stock sport suspension, amongst other things.
Basic idea is a clean OEM+ build, swapping out the 5-spoke 18" rims for some Hartmann 19s in a factory style. I'm going to eventually get around to tinting it as well. This year I've done a BlendPro radar mount as well as the S-Tronic shifter knob conversion, which I'll post about below.
We'll see what else comes!

First mod on the B8 was a front license plate delete. I can't stand the look of front plates, and though it's a secondary infraction in MA, I'd rather just run without one. After it was inspected I ordered a new plate filler from ECSTuning for $120 or something like that, and it was here pretty quickly. Three screws in the front grille and I went from ugly to a clean OEM look.
I also got a "Truth In Engineering" brushed aluminum license plate frame for the rear just to clean it up a bit.

Totally random little bit of information to throw in here, but I dropped the obnoxious $125 on the WeatherTech digital fit front floor mats today. I had picked up some generic Michelin ones at Wal-Mart when I bought the car in 01/14, but they have since become misshaped and have made it dangerous driving on two occasions. Shaun took the B8 for a drive and the gas pedal stuck, an occurrence that happened again to me the other night. Luckily it was very late and there was nobody around, but I had to shift into neutral while keeping my foot on the brake until I could clear the gas pedal of the floor mat material.
New ones should be much much safer, albeit 10x more expensive.

Keep me posted how you feel about them. I think I might make the jump to those for winter!

I took some time last winter (14) to hardwire my Escort Passport 8500 x50 radar detector. Picked up an add-a-fuse at AutoZone, and wired it in. I left a ton of slack in the cable coiled up by the fuse panel so that when I got around to picking up another mount, I could move the detector higher up the windshield and center it more. Having not found the right mount yet, it was okay to live where it was. It's really nice to have it hard wired and not have any cabling running all over the place. I hate messy cabling.

After shopping around for a while I came across the BlendMount. It was fairly expensive ($125 I think) but is the cleanest looking mount I could find which was important to me.
The BlendMount shipping was amazingly quick, and was on my doorstep 2 days later from across the country. Install took less than 5 minutes including leveling it out, and I'm very pleased so far. Car's in storage for another two weeks but I'll be able to see how it does bouncing around on the road once she's out and driving again. Didn't have space to open the driver door to run the wiring up, but I'll be able to do that in a few weeks from now. As of yet it's just hanging out and looking a LOT better than the suction cup mount on the left side of the windshield.
